Didn't even go to sleep due to the late night, up at 4am to pack and get the bus to the aiport at 4.30 for my 6am flight to Brisbane!
Once in brisbane took trains to get to the bus station where I had to wait for 3 hours for my bus to Byron Bay. The bus finally arrived and took just over 3hrs to get there. Arrived to a torrential downpour!

Day 71 & 72 - 21/05 & 22/05 - Cairns!
Spent two glorious days in the sun as it was bound to be the last I it as good on this trip!
Then had a night out friday to say goodbye to everyone!

Day 70 - 20/05 - Cape Tribulation!
Spent the morning walking along the beach to the Cape Trib lookout point and then over to Myall beach. It was so hot it was nearly unbearble. After relaxing by the pool hidden away in the trees we chilled out on the beach before getting picked up again at 1.15pm to be taken back to cairns.
On our way back we went to a place called Mossman Gorge - it was pretty cool and we were going to go swimming but the water was way too cold for us so instead we wandered along the boardwalk taking in all the sights.
Once back at Cairns, checked back into our hostel and got into the same room as Amanda (met in Brisbane) so we spent the whole evening chatting and laughing and catching up before falling asleep.
On our way back we went to a place called Mossman Gorge - it was pretty cool and we were going to go swimming but the water was way too cold for us so instead we wandered along the boardwalk taking in all the sights.

Day 70 - 19/05 - Cape Tribulation!
We got a bus to a place called Cape Tribulation which is a huge place where the rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef! It was so cool on the way up we took a cruise on the Daintree river where we went crocodile spotting. Got to see two tiny little babies, a MASSIVE male about 90years old and a female sitting with her mouth wide open trying to cool down. It was incredible to see.
Then due to my crack on the head the day before I wasn't feeling the greatest and ended up sleeping for the rest of the day once we had checked into our hostel.

Day 69 - 18/05 - Great Barrier Reef!
Had a trip out to the Great Barrier Reef today and it was just one disaster after another all before 9am!
First of all they told me that I couldn't scuba dive due to my asthma despite already having paid for it - Grrhh!
Then I smacked my head off of the hatch getting out on to the front deck of the boat - very painful!
After that I was sitting putting suncream on and my sunglasses decided to fly off the side of the boat into the water so I lost them!
I then decided to get a cup of tea and tripped getting into the seat and bashed my arm on the not so soft edge!
Finally I started to feel sea sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A MORNING!
The day totally picked up though as I snorkled alongside a huge turtle and held a sea slug (so gross) and got to hold a starfish! I also saw a nemo fish, an octopus and swam near sharks (just little ones). It was so amazing, no amount of pictures could recapture the things I saw! It has got to be a must thing for everyone to do!

Day 68 - 17/05 - Cairns!
The sun was shining and there were no clouds in the sky at all so we all spent the day hanging out at the Lagoon in town and soaked up the sun! It was just what I needed after so many cloudy days on the way up to Cairns!
Finished reading my book, can't believe it only took me three days (one of which I spent sleeping mostly) so headed around the book shops to try and get the third one in the series - no luck though!
Headed out again this evening -had a $10 supper consisitng of a massive main meal, a pint of whatever you wanted - strongbow for me - and a pudding! It was awesome! Then we headed back to our hostel to have a relatively chilled night playing cards and chatting to everyone.

Day 67 - 16/05 - Cairns!
Went into town and organised my travles back down to Sydney via Byron Bay. Then spent a good few hours chilling out by the lagoon enjoying the sunshine!
Another night out tonight as it was Denise's birthday so we headed into town, watched the Man Utd v. Arsenal match and then had some drinks and more dancing on bars and tables!
